Abhaya 200 Hour Interdisciplinary Yoga Teacher Training:

Yoga is a continually evolving practice, as we combine practice with intention and our everyday life, we can find a harmonious balance of yoga on and off of the mat.

What was once presented as the do’s and don’t of yoga may not translate to the world we live in today.

Over the years we have learned from many traditional gurus, and have seen yoga become mainstream.

There are a multitude of practices and modalities associated with the word yoga therefore we will study Eastern & Western traditions of body, mind and spiritual practice.

This teacher training will take a non-authoritative approach to teaching yoga so that the practitioner can evolve and develop his or her own style and approach to the practice, being able to speak from one’s own experience.

Our hope is that you will be able to experiment during this training to discover who you are at the core of your being, and use this to influence your own personal practice and growth, or pass on knowledge and passion as a yoga instructor.


Join Jasper locals Marla Pollock, Steph Sophocleous & Jenna McGrath plus guest teachers as they take you on a journey of self exploration and discovery.

This training will give you broad knowledge, and a solid base to begin your personal or professional yogic journey. This training will leave you with your 200 Hour Yoga Teaching Certification.

- History of Yoga

- Meditation

- Pranayama

- The 8 Limbs of Yoga

- The Yoga Sutras

- Yamas & Niamas

- Bhandas

- Chakras

- Anatomy ( including contraindications & postural imbalances)

- Postures

- Adapting class for life stages

- Ethics

- Sanskrit

- Flow of postures and Sequence

Interdisciplinary Teachings of Hatha, Flow (Vinyasa), YIN, plus exploration other methods and styles of yoga.

Fridays 6-9:30pm

Saturdays & Sundays 7-9am | 11am-6:30pm

January 3-5, 17-19, 31st - Feb 2nd

February 14-16, 28th - Mar 1st

Mar 6-8th

April 3-5, 17-19th


Financial Commitment:

We value the need for flexibility in payment options. The total for this program is $2700

Payment options ($500 deposit upon acceptance into the program + 5 payments of $440)
